As I wandered through the streets of Trinidad and passed by the plantations of Viñales, I became immersed in heart-warming stories, imbued with feelings and defying the passage of time. Clueless about their names, I tried to connect with them, capturing precise expressions, gestures that punctuated their stories, and silent eyes that seemed to reveal so much.
Through the viewfinder, some offered me a sheepish glance; little by little, their involuntary shyness gave way to a willingness to share what they truly longed for. Despite the economic hardships Cubans face day by day, their sense of humour never seemed to fade, a resilient present lived between an arduous past and an unforeseeable future, with little more than the hope of living life fully and believing in a better tomorrow.
